October 8
This is a neat little town. Much of its medieval wall still stands, incorporated
into newer construction, sometimes even including a roof. Jerri and I walk the
wall and find the towers the town has begun to renovate. One is intact enough
to climb.
In the town plaza, I really like this particular pilgrim monument.
We come across the library (closed--no surprise) while looking for the bus
station. Over lunch, while reading about the next stage--along the highway into
León--we decide to ride the bus to the city. Brierley himself suggests doing
just that. And who are we to argue with Brierley?
