A quick aside that may be helpful in understanding how we move forward.
The guide book we're using has broken down the Camino into 33 stages. Each
stage has a one-page map, regardless of how many kilometers the stage is.
Without a reference scale, it's sometimes hard to gauge our progress. As far
as the maps' appearance, a 20 km stage looks just like a 30 km one.
We walk from the bottom of the page to the top, regardless of which actual
direction we're traveling. It does make things easy, though, to know we just
track our movement up the page.
In any case, we think in terms of maps. Can we finish a whole map today?
Can we cover any portion of the next map as well? That sort of thing.
